IHG Rewards Accelerate Promotion Q3 2017

0

As one Accelerate promotion draws to a close, IHG Rewards rolls out another. The Accelerate Quarter 3 promotion for 2017 is now rolling out and will run from  September 1 through to December 31, 2017.  This is a litlle better than the equivalent promotion last year that finished two weeks before the end of the year.

As with previous versions of this promotion, the promotion makes a number of tailored tasks for each member. Upon completion of each of the ‘tasks’, the member is a awarded a certain number of points.

The tasks are typically tailored for each member, taking into account a number of factors in the members relationship with IHG Rewards. They may take into account your stay history, your country of residence, and so on. In addition, there is typically one final task that requires you to complete a set number of the other individual tasks.

Types of Offers

As mentioned, there are a variety of offers that might be made available to individual users. I have shown a screenshot of my own offers in the image below.

Accelerate Q3 offers

In my case, the promotion follows a slightly different tack to previous promotions. This time around, I basically have a series of stay 3 nights offers. To get all the points from the promotion, I will need to stay 20 nights.

Other members have reported a wide range of offers, which include tasks such as

  • staying a certain number of nights on weekends
  • staying at certain brands. For me, this was Intercontinental, but there have been offers for brands such as Holiday Inn Express,
  • spending a certain amount on food and beverage
  • making a redemption
  • downloading or booking through the IHG App.

Overall, this promotion is one that I may earn a few points out of, but I am unlikely to complete the 20 stays in the four months it is running for.
