Woolworths cuts points earning on Woolworths Qantas Platinum Card

Woolworths

Woolworths has announced a reduction in points earning on its Woolworths Qantas Platinum Card. As of April 1, the standard earn rate will be dropping to 0.5 Qantas Points per Dollar. However, you will still be able to earn 1 point per dollar when shopping at Woolworths, Big W, Caltex Woolworths, BWS, Dan Murphy’s or Cellarmasters.

The changes are coming into effect from April 1. Through until March 31, you will continue to earn at the current rate.

The current earn rate is base on a tiered earn rate. It pays out one Qantas Point per $1 spent up to $2,500 per monthly statement period. Any spend over $2,500 in a statement period sees that drop down to 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent.

Come April 1, and cardholders will see all spend outside the specified Woolworths group members drop down to a flat 0.5 Qantas points per dollar. Any spend within the Woolworths group will earn at the 1 Qantas Point per dollar rate. The retailers that you can earn 1 Qantas Point per dollar will be Woolworths, Big W, Caltex Woolworths, BWS, Dan Murphy’s or Cellarmasters.

While you will continue to earn a bonus point for selected Qantas services, the changes will see this drop to 1.5 Qantas Points per dollar. This is due to the earn for Qantas spend dropping along with most other spend to 0.5 Points per dollar.

There are no other changes announced to other features of the card. For example, the 10% discount on one shop per month on a selected weekend will still apply.
