Qantas Frequent Flyers are losing the ability to earn points at OnSport from 3 July 2023. On that date, the current partnership between OnSport and Qantas will come to an end.
In the meantime, members that have linked their Qantas Frequent Flyer number to their onsport account will earn 5 Qantas Points per dollar. You will also be able to redeem points up until 3 July.
onsport.com.au offers Qantas Points
onsports.com.au has partnered with Qantas Frequent Flyer. The new partnership kicked off on 28 February offering 2 Qantas Points per dollar across the range of onsport.com.au products.
The new partnership is interesting in that onsport.com.au appears to have retained its existing Velocity relationship. However, unlike the Velocity offer, there does not seem to be an offer to pretty much just buy points.
In order to earn Qantas Points, you will need to create an online account at onsport.com.au. During the account creation process, you will need to link your Qantas Frequent Flyer number to your account. Once you have done this, you will automatically receive Qantas Points 45 days after you make a purchase.
The standard rate for Qantas Points is 2 Qantas Points per dollar. You should compare this to the 5 Velocity Points per dollar that is on offer. In most cases, taking the Velocity Points may offer a greater return.
It seems that you can choose which partner you would like to earn points with. So, you can probably change to whichever partner gives the best deal on each purchase.
