    Qantas Green

Qantas has rolled out some changes to the path to Green Tier. While you still need to complete five out of the six categories, there have been some changes to the tasks within the categories.

The big advantage of becoming a Qantas Green Tiers member is that you can choose an annual bonus of 10,000 Qantas Points or 50 Status Credits.

How to Earn Qantas Green Tier

The Green Tier is an award that you need to earn or retain each year This is similar to the need to retain your status, or Points Club each year. It also operates over the same membership year as your status.

The six categories are as follows (tasks are correct as of 1 July 2025)

    • Flying
      • You can complete this task by adding the Voluntary Carbon Program when you book your flight. This has changed from the previous task of purchasing carbon offsets.
    • Travel
      • To Complete this task, you need to book a stay at an eco-accredited hotel via Qantas Hotels
    • Lifestyle
      • You need to complete one of the three following tasks:
        • Earn Qantas Points when you install products and services with Solargain
        • Add GreenPower to a Qantas Red Saver plan with Red Energy and support renewable energy
        • Link your RecycleSmart and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts and complete 3 Pickups
    • Shopping
      • Shop eligible Sustainable Winegrowing Australia-certified products from Qantas Wine
    • Learning
      • Complete one of the following
        • Understand your impact on the environment by taking our quiz via the Qantas Wellbeing App.
        • Complete four weekly surveys with the Saveful App to learn how to reduce your household’s food waste
    • Give Back
      • Contribute to charities supporting food waste reduction, biodiversity conservation and more. At present you can choose to donate to one of the following
        • UNICEF
        • Kimberley Land Council
        • OzHarvest
        • Great Barrier Reef Foundation

    Green Tier Rewards

Once you have achieved Green Tier, Qantas will offer you a choice of reward. You get to choose one of the two options, and you will have this choice every year you retain Green Tier status.

    • Choose to receive 10,000 bonus Qantas Points, or
    • Collect 50 extra Status Credits

On top of that, there are two further opportunities to collect extra points while you hold Green Tier status:

    • Earn 150 bonus Qantas Points per night on all eligible eco-accredited hotels booked through qantas.com/hotels, except Classic Hotel Rewards
    • Receive 250 bonus points per case on designated cases of six and 12 bottles purchased through Qantas Wine.

    Final Words

Qantas has tweaked the requirements of Green Tier a couple of times since its launch. It’s probably worth keeping an eye on them in case they change while you chase Green Tier.
