ACCC Authorises BP Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyer tie up

    MarkBy MarkFebruary 27, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

Qantas Frequent Flyer members will soon be able to earn points at BP service stations.

This follows today’s ACCC authorisation giving the green light to Qantas, BP Australia and independent BP petrol stations to participate in the BP Rewards, Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Reward programs.

This is the second stage of a roll-out first announced last year. Last month, began offering points to Qantas Business Rewards customers that hold a BP Plus card.

That was fine if you operated a business. However, for most motorists, BP have not been offering points since they pulled the plug on offering Velocity Points. For the consumer, the wait has been on for the new BP Rewards program to kick off.

    What is BP Rewards?

BP Rewards is a new loyalty program operated by BP. Under the program, BP Rewards members will be able to earn points while spending at BP service stations.

In order to earn points, you will be able to scan your digital card in the BPme app. In addition, members will be able to pick up a physical card in store. As a member of BP Rewards, you will be able to choose between BP Points or Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Having said that, at this point the earn rates have not been announced. Further details on these, and an expected launch date are expected over the coming weeks.

Airlines come and go. New hotels open, old hotels change brands, and on it goes. FlyStayPoints was started as a way to try to keep on top of all this. Keep track of promotions.
