Accor is set to open a new luxury hotel – the Sofitel Adelaide in 2018. The new hotel will be located in Currie St in the city’s CBD. The hotel will be part of a 32-storey mixed-use tower, which in addition to being a hotel, will also house the tallest residential development in South Australia.

Of the 32 stories, the first 24 will be dedicated to the hotel, with a total of 250 rooms and suites, together with leisure and business facilities, which will include a restaurant, four bars, ballroom, swimming pool, health and fitness centre, meeting and conference rooms and a Sofitel Club Lounge. The remaining 8 floors will be dedicated to residential apartments.

“The new-build Sofitel will open shortly after the stage two completion of the Convention Centre’s East Building and the proposed Adelaide Airport expansion,” said Accor Pacific COO Simon McGrath.

Adelaide developer and investor, Palumbo will develop the new Sofitel. Managing Director of Palumbo Pty Ltd,  Daniel Palumbo, said that the process to identify a hotel partner took over a year.

“Sofitel was chosen because, quite simply, it offers the best premier hotel experience,” said Mr Palumbo.

“Sofitel Adelaide will be South Australia’s premier hotel destination and is a French luxury hotel brand associated with beauty, quality and excellence.”

“Sofitel Adelaide will offer the best of both worlds,” added Mr Palumbo. “It will combine the very best South Australian wine and produce with the finest French pastries, wines, cheeses and breads, all of which create a uniquely European experience for guests.”
