AirNorth appears to be leaving the Qantas Frequent Flyer program from 1 May 2020. This has two affects for members travelling on AirNorth – one on the earning points side, and one on the using points side.

AirNorth

AirNorth is a regional airline based out of Darwin Airport. From there it operates to a number of destinations across the Northern Territory, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, and East Timor.

They have been a Qantas Frequent Flyer partner for a while, but this seems to be coming to an end. As a result, members will not be able to earn points on AirNorth services. In addition, Qantas Frequent Flyers will not be able to redeem Award seats on their rather unique routes.

No Points Earning from 1 May 2020

First up, members will no longer earn Qantas Points when flying on Air North. The changes come into effect on 1 May 2020. This means that the last Air North flights which offer Qantas Points will be on April 30.

No Classic Redemptions

The other side of the coin is the ability to use points. Again, this is coming to an end for services in Air North, As from 1 May 2020, you will no longer be able to obtain classic award seats on Air North services.

AirNorth brought some unique routes to the Qantas program, and it is a shame to see them go.
