Accor has announced a status extension allowing most members to keep their status through to the end of 2022. Members of Accor Plus will have the chance to keep their status until 2023.
The extension applies to members of ALL – Accor Live Limitless and members of the Accor Plus program. The status extension works slightly differently for members of these two programs.
The latest extension follows from the previous extension for 2021. It also brings Accor into line with other programs such as Hilton Honors, which has already announced a status extension for 2022.
Status Extensions
ALL – Accor Live Limitless
Accor is now offering members the ability to keep their status through to the end of 2022. According to Accor, this updated status will be reflected in members’ accounts over the next few days.
Accor Plus
Members of Accor Plus have a slightly different extension, as their status aligns with the month their membership expires. In normal times, Accor looks at the previous calendar year, and the current calendar year to determine which status to offer.
During 2022, any member of Accor Plus renewing their Accor Plus membership will have their status extended through to 2023.
Accor gives an example of a member with a membership year that expires in November. Under this extension, should they renew Accor Plus in November 2022, they will keep their status until November 2023.
Thoughts
Given the state of travel this year, it is not that surprising to see Accor taking this step. Having said that, Accor has not yet shown their hand on whether there will be adjustments to the requirements for levels for 2022.
