Vietnam recently added Australia to the list of countries whose citizens are eligible for a Vietnam eVisa. Other countries recently added to the list include New Zealand, Canada, India, the Netherlands and the U.A.E.

If you have ever visited Vietnam, you will be familiar with the need to obtain a Visa for entry into the country. Previously, the options included attending the Vietnamese embassy or mailing your passport in.
There were other mechanisms available, such as obtaining an invitation to utilise the Visa on Arrival processes. In the case of obtaining a Visa from the embassy, this would be a time consuming process. The alternative of obtaining a Visa On Arrival raises a few questions abut the privacy of your data.
Well, those days may be over with the extension of the eVisa process to Australians. eVisas have been available to a number of countries since early 2017, and now the program extends to Australia.
The new process starts off by filling in this online form. It doesn’t come for free though, you have to pay a non-refundable service fee.This is currently set at $US25.
It the takes up to three working days to find out if their applications have been approved or not. If you are successful, you will be able to print off an approval letter present when on arrival.
eVisas are valid at Vietnam’s eight international airports, seven ports, and 13 land crossings. On arrival, you will need to present the approval letter, along with a passport-sized photo, your passport (with six months validity beyond the date of arrival) and a filled in NA1 form. You must pay a US$25 visa stamping fee in US dollars at the airport to obtain your visa stamp.
