Last week, I wrote about the revamped Marriott Rewards #RewardsPoints program. Under the Connect and Collect program, Marriott Rewards are offering members the chance to earn Marriott Rewards points for interacting on social media. By interacting, it seems they mean that you will earn points for posting on Twitter or Instagram during the campaigns. As one Accelerate promotion draws to a close, IHG Rewards rolls out another. The Accelerate Quarter 3 promotion for 2017 is now rolling out and will run from  September 1 through to December 31, 2017.  This is a litlle better than the equivalent promotion last year that finished two weeks before the end of the year. Marriott Rewards has rebooted its #MRPoints program, and relaunched it under the #RewardsPoints name. Under the program, members are able to earn Marriott Rewards points by engaging with Marriott Rewards points on social media. In addition to the new name, Marriott have increased the number of points that are available. Each year, a member will be able to earn a macimum of 45,000 Marriott Rewards points. This is a substantial increase over the 2,500 points that were previously available. Qantas have added the ability to earn Qantas Points when signing up for a Qantas Club membership. As of August 1, Bronze and Silver Frequent Flyer members will earn 3 Qantas Points per dollar on the relevant join and annual membership fees. Of course, the offer does not help Gold, Platinum and Platinum One members, as they are granted complimentary Qantas Club memberships. Qantas has announced direct seasonal flights between Sydney and Osaka (Kansai) International). The seasonal flight will operate 3 days a week between 14 December 2017 until 24 March 2018. The service will operate each Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and will be operated by upgraded two-class Airbus A330 aircraft. In my case, I have a new task offering 1,500 points for a stay in August. Velocity has announced changes to points earning on Delta and Air New Zealand services. For Delta, Velocity are introducing a new points bonus for silver and above members. In the case of Air New Zealand, the ability to earn points on Trans Pacific flights is being removed. Members of the Virgin Australia Velocity Frequent Flyer are now able to earn Velocity points and status credits when travelling aboard Capital Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines and Tianjin Airlines.
