Earn 1000 Qantas Points on a $50 Uber Gift Card

Good news for Uber-loving frequent flyers this week. Woolworths is offering 2,000 Woolworths Rewards points when you purchase a $50 Uber gift card. For those that convert to Qantas Points, this would reap 1,000 Qantas Points.

This offer is available in the current catalogue, valid between 27 November and 3 December.

Value of the Uber Gift Card Bonus

If you convert the Woolworths Rewards Points to a Woolworths credit, you will get a $10 discount. This means that you will effectively buy the Uber Gift card at a 20% discount.

For many, however, Woolworths Rewards is just a path to Qantas Points. For those that convert their Woolworths Rewards points to Qantas Points, each Uber Gift card will get you an extra 1,000 Qantas Points.

And don’t forget, if you are using Uber to head to the airport, you could also earn Qantas Points on your Uber trips.

Final Words

The supermarkets run this type of offers fairly frequently. Sometimes it is Coles and Flybuys, this week it is the turn of Woolworths Rewards.

Remember to pay for the Gift Card using a points earning credit card – especially if that card offers a good earn rate at Woolworths. For example, the David Jones American Express or David Jones American Express Platinum cards can payout up to 1.5 airline miles for each dollar spent at Woolworths.

It is always worth keeping an eye on gift voucher promotions from the supermarkets. Deals such as these could provide you additional points without needing to spend more. In this case, if you are an Uber user, this could be an offer that appeals. And if you’re off to the airport – you could get even more Qantas Points.
