    Earn 1,000 Velocity Points with new Rocket Travel partnership

    Virgin Australia has launched a new partnership with Rocket Travel, offering Velocity members the chance to earn Points when booking hotels and car rentals.

    As a launch offer, Velocity offers 1,000 bonus points on eligible car hire bookings. In addition, there is a triple points offer for hotel bookings.

    Rocket Travel Bonus Points Offers

    As noted there are two bonus points offers available. One is for car hire, while the other is for booking accommodation. In both cases, these points are in addition to the standard earn rate.

    Car Hire

    • Offer: 1,000 bonus points on eligible car hire bookings
    • Booking Dates: Book by 30 September 2022
    • Travel Dates: Travel before 28 February 2023.
    • Conditions: Requires Prepayment of car hire while booking

    Velocity and Rocket Travel

    Virgin Australia has launched a new partnership with Rocket Travel, that allows members to book hotels and car hire through the Virgin Australia website and app. Rocket Travel is a travel company in the Bookings Holding stable. As such, it shares the same owner as companies such as Bookings.com, Agoda, and Kayak.

    When booking hotels through Virgin Australia, Velocity members are able to earn 3 Points per dollar on all bookings. Benefits of booking hotels through this new partnership include:

    • free cancellation
    • prepaid rates available
    • pay on arrival rates

    The earn rate for Eligible car rental bookings varies between 2 and 4 Points per $1 spent. For Velocity members with status, the earn rate can increase to up to 6 Points per $1 spent.

    Benefits of booking car rentals through this new partnership include

    • free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to pick up on eligible rentals
    • prepaid rates
    • Australia and New Zealand rentals with Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Ace
