Red Energy Offering up to 30 Qantas Status Credits

    MarkBy MarkNovember 11, 2020No Comments3 Mins Read

Over the last few months, Qantas Frequent Flyers have been able to earn Status Credits from non-flying activities. Red Energy is the latest business offering Status Credits, and they are offering up to 30 Status Credits. To be in line for the status credits, you need to be a new customer taking out a new plan.

Details of Red Energy Status Credit Offer

There are two parts to the Status Credit offer

    • Earn 20 bonus Status Credits when you switch your electricity to a Qantas Red Saver plan.
    • Switch your gas for an additional 10 bonus Status Credits.*
    • Limited time only, must switch by 10 January 2021.

This offer is available to customers switching from another provider, or existing customers that are moving.

    New Customer Offer

Red Energy is offering customers up to 15,000 Qantas Points when taking out a Qantas Red Saver Plan. To be eligible, you need to be switching from another provider. If you are a Red Energy customer, you can also collect the points if you are moving to a new address.

In order to get the full 15,000 Qantas Points, you need to take up both an electricity and gas plan. You will get 10,000 Qantas Points for the electricity plan. You can then get an additional 5,000 points for taking out a gas plan.

Having said that there is some variation in plans available in different states. If you are in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia or Queensland and South Australia, the offer is available for gas and electricity. Residents of the ACT are limited to collecting points on electricity. Unfortunately, if you are in Tasmania or Western Australia you are unable to sign up to a Red Energy plan.

    Qantas Red Saver Plan

Qantas Points are available to customers taking out a Red Saver Plan. On top of the bonus points, there is also an ongoing offer of 2 Qantas Points per dollar on Electricty and Gas charges. This is available both to new customers, and existing customers that switch to a Qantas Red Save Plan.

    Thoughts

Energy bills are in the news right now, and as always it is worth shopping around for the best deal. While Qantas Points are a good bonus, do your homework to make sure you are getting the best deal.

Remember you can use a points-earning credit card to pay your energy bill. This means there are options here that will allow you to ‘double-dip’ on the points earning potential.
