Earlier this year, Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia announced the end of their partnership. Since then, Virgin have been rolling out a number of changes and promotions to entice passengers to their product.
They have announced an upgraded on-board offering, and have even run happy hour fares focussed solely on New Zealand.
To further entice you to book with Virgin Australia to New Zealand, they are now running a points bonus promotion. Under the promotion, you can earn
- 3,000 bonus points for a one-way Economy flight (or 6,000 for a return trip)
- 6,000 bonus points for a one-way Business flight (or 12,000 for a return trip)
Requirements
To be in line for the points, you will need to register and book by October 3. However, you can travel any time between November 12, 2018 and October 9, 2019. I am not sure you will actually be able to book tickets that far out, but that is what Velocity say.
As always with these promotions, you do need to make sure that your flight is eligible. The following flights are not eligible for the promotion:
- Previous bookings/bookings already made
- Codeshare services marketed or operated by a partner airline other than Virgin Australia (for example, the codeshare on Singapore Airlines between Melbourne and Wellington will not eligible)
- Reward seat bookings
