Qantas Movies
Qantas Movies is a fairly recent, and perhaps little known, way of earning Qantas Points. Through a dedicated site at ,Qantas Frequent Flyer members may purchase vouchers to a number of cinemas across Australia. Normally, such a purchase earns 2 points per dollar, but as mentioned, under a current promotion, this becomes 4 points per dollar.
Vouchers can be purchased for a range of cinemas including Event Cinemas, Village Cinemas, Hoyts Cinemas, and many independents.
Overall, the process is fairly simple. On the Qantas Movies website, you’ll be presented with a list of cinemas participating in the program. You are then able to search by postcode or suburb, in order to find a relevant, local cinema. Upon selecting your cinema of choice, you will be presened with a purchase screen. If you have not logged into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, you will be prompted to do so before you can purchase tickets.
After you have purchased the vouchers, they will be added to your account where you are able to print them off. You take the voucher to the relevant cinema where iy may be converted to a ticket to the movie of your choice.
The movie voucher pricing n the Qantas Movies site, usually represents a discounted rate compared to the walk up price of a standard screening. Qantas say that this discount can be up to 40% on your purchase. In addtion, of course, the purchase comes with bonus Qantas Points.
