Energy Australia and Velocity are parting ways. Members of Velocity have until March 31 to sign up to a new account to get their bonus points. Come April 1, you will no longer be able to sign up to an Energy Australia Velocity Plan. In addition, you will no longer be able to link your Velocity and Energy Australia accounts.
If you have an eligible linked account, Energy Australia will pay the annual bonus points until March 31, 2021.
Energy Australia Offer (until March 31)
Energy Australia is offering Velocity members up to 20,000 Velocity Points when taking up a new energy supply account. Under the offer, members can earn
- 10,000 points for a new electricity service, and
- 10,000 points for a new gas service.
Members taking up both electricity and gas can earn 20,000 points.
EnergyAustralia offer electricity and gas plans to customers in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. As a result, you can only take advantage of this offer if you live in one of these states or territories.
On an ongoing bases, Energy Australia offers customers 2,000 points per year.
New EnergyAustralia Customers
The new offer is valid for new EnergyAustralia customers. Unfortunately, existing customers are not eligible for the bonus.
The points are on offer for new customers that sign up and link their accounts before June 27, 2018. After that time, the offer will revert to the standard offer of 10,000 points (5,000 for electricity and 5,000 for gas).
Annual Bonus
New and Existing customers, will also receive 2,000 Velocity Points every year on each anniversary of your account. To receive the points, you will need to keep your account with EnergyAustralia.
Anniversary Points are allocated at each continuous 12 month anniversary of joining EnergyAustralia. In order to get the points members need to stay on the residential electricity or gas plan and continue to receive bills and correspondence by email. In addition, bills need to pay by direct debit.
