Europcar rolls out new ‘Privilege for You’ program

    MarkBy MarkMay 31, 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Last week, I received an email from Europcar advising that I was a ‘Navigator’ in the Privilege for You loyalty program. It appears that Europcar has introduced a new Loyalty program, Privilege, replacing the Privilege Club Program. While the program still offers 4 membership levels, there have been significant changes to the program:

    • Earn Points:
      • You will now earn points on both business and leisure rentals. These points will be used for determining your status in the program. This is a change from using the number of rentals or the number of days
    • Status Levels:
      • The Levels have a different name in the new program. Your level in the program will be tied to the number of points you earn
    • Program Benefits:
      • The benefits of the levels have changed.  As you move up in tiers, you earn more points per Euro spent and gain access to additional benefits. These benefits include vehicle category upgrades and free additional driver coverage.

    Privilege For You

    Earning Points

One significant change in the program is that it will now use points as a way of determining your status level in the program. Basically, as you earn more points, you will be able to move up the levels.

Europcar can award you two types of points – revenue-based points and activity-based points.

For revenue-based spending (such as the car rental charge), you will earn 1 point per Euro (or equivalent). This works out to about 0.6 points per Australian Dollar. Not all charges will earn points. For example, the various administration and recovery fees do not earn points.

Interestingly, there are a range of activity-based points. These are awarded for performing one of a number of actions. Examples include

    • welcome points (100 points)
    • online check-in (50 points)
    • Renting an electric vehicle (150 points)
    • birthday (50 points)
    • booking an extra (50 points).
    • booking a package (50 points for Comfort / 100 points for Comfort +) (in eligible countries only)

You can earn points by renting in one of the following countries: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Australia, New Zealand, Austria & Switzerland.

    New Levels

These points entitle Members to Loyalty status as follows:

    • Discoverer :
      • Entry Level
    • Traveller :
      • From 1,000 to 2,999 points
    • Adventurer :
      • From 3,000 to 9,999 points
    • Navigator :
      • From 10,000 points

For reference, the previous levels of the program were:

    • Privilege Club:
      • Entry Level
    • Privilege Executive:
      • From 10 rentals or 40 rental days
    • Privilege Elite:
      • From 25 rentals or 85 rental days
    • Privilege Elite VIP:
      • From 40 rentals or 130 rental days

    New Benefits

The benefits of the program increase as you move up through the statue levels. The benefits are as follows:

    • Discoverer:
      • 10% off all year round,
      • Special offers, and
      • Accor hotel discounts.

    New Rewards

Aside from the status benefits, Rewards are also available for achieving certain point goals. These Rewards will replace the existing rewards, such as the free weekend rental offer.
