Hilton Honors Diamond members are being given the opportunity to gift either Gold or Diamond status to another member.
Lifetime members are being given the chance to gift Diamond Status. On the other hand, regular Diamond members can gift gold membership.
This offer was first revealed recently to members in their monthly statement. Now, Hilton Honors have begun sending out emails to their Diamond members with instructions on how to gift status.
On top of this years offer, Hilton have also revealed a relaxed set of rules in order to gift status in 2021.
Gifting Status
If you are a Hilton Honors Diamond member, keep your eyes peeled for an email from Hilton.
This email will contain a unique code that you can give to the person you are upgrading. They will need to go to a specified URL and enter the code in order to upgrade their status.
Next Year
Hilton Honors have also announced an adjustment to the requirements to gift status next year. Normally, a Diamond member can gift status when they reach the following thresholds in a year:
- Diamond members can gift Gold status if they stay 60 elite nights in a year
- Diamond members can gift Diamond status if they stay 100 elite nights in a year
Hilton will be reducing these thresholds in 2021. As such
- Diamond members can gift Gold status if they stay 30 elite nights in 2021
- Diamond members can gift Diamond status if they stay 60 elite nights in 2021
Thoughts
Hilton Honors has been one of the better programs in looking after their members this year. This gifting offer continues that trend, and it looks as though they will continue to support their members over 2021.
