Hilton Honors have launched a new Double Dip promotion, this time targetting Krisflyer members. Under the offer, Krisflyer members can earn Triple Double Dip points when staying in Australasia, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea. For the rest of the world, double points are on offer.
In order to take advantage of this promotion, you will need to:
- Register for the promotion prior to check-out of your stay within the Promotion Period (July 26 to September 30, 2017)
- Ensure that the ‘MyWay Earning Style’ in your Honors Account is set to Points & Miles Earning style
- Ensure that Qantas Frequent Flyer is set as your preferred travel partner
Hilton Honors Double Dip
The Hilton Honors program has a rather unique ‘Double Dip’ option.Under this option, you can elect to earn points in both the Hilton Honors program, as well as in selected Airline partner programs. Alternatively, you can choose to forego the airline miles, and take additional Hilton Honors points. The choice is made under the MyWay Earning style option in your Honors Account.
As you may appreciate, this gives you a degree of flexibility in how you might like to earn points. Either take them all as Hilton HHonors points, of forego some and take airline miles. This does mean that you need to work through the options to work out the best way to take your points.
Double Dip Basics
As mentioned, under the program, you have a MyWay earning preference to make in your Hilton Honors account. Essentially, you have two options:
1. HHonors Points + Variable Miles: The number you earn depends on how much you spend
2. HHonors Points + HHonors Points: Basically you earn a points bonus on top of base points
The number of points you will earn varies accoriding to program partner.
Points & Points Double Dip
Under this option, you will earn an additional 5 Hilton Honors points per eligible US dollar spent on your room. (except at Home2 Suites locations where you will earn an additional 2.5 Hilton Honors points)
Points & Variable Miles
If you select this option, you will generally earn 1 Airline Point per US dollar charged to your room. There are some exceptions, such as the Virgin Australia Velocity program which earns 2 points per US Dollar charged to the room.
.As that were confusing enough, Hilton often run promotions with various airlines offering a bonus on the number of points offered under the ‘Double Dip’. In the table below, we list some of the current offers that we are aware of.
