HSBC is offering its cardholders 20% bonus points on purchases. The promotion is open to new and existing HSBC cardholders and is valid on purchases through December 31, 2017.
Registration
In order to receive the bonus, cardholders are fist required to register for the promotion. HSBC have made this a simple process, and require you to SMS the last 4 digits of your credit card to 0447 174 641. In order to be successful, you must do this with the number you have registered with HSBC. You will receive a confirmation message when you have successfully registered.
While the bonus points are available for most eligible purchases, there are a few limitations to be aware of. For example, the normally excluded transactions will not earn. For example, any spend via BPay will be excluded. There is also a maximum of 10,000 points that are available per account.
For new cardholders, the bonus points do not apply to any signup bonus that is on offer. For example, the current offer of 60,000 points on the HSBC Qantas Platinum card will nor be increased by 20%.
