The Ibis Styles East Perth is a new addition to the choices of hotels around Perth. The hotel fits squarely in the Economy hotel segment, but that may not be a bad thing.
When all is said and done, this is an Economy hotel. As a result, it misses out on some of the luxury trimmings you may find at other hotels.
Having said that, it offers a 24-hour gym, and co-working spaces for the business traveller.
Location
Located in East Perth, the Ibis Styles East Perth is located across the road from the well established Hyatt Regency.
If you’re heading to the WACA, then it may be a good option. It is also in the Free Transit Zone – so you can jump on a bus, and get a free ride into the CBD.
The hotel consists of 252 guest rooms spanning 18 floors. Built using modular construction methods, it was the largest high-rise modular hotel
The Room
The room while small is functional. It is equipped with most of what you would expect these days. This includes free Wi-Fi, Chrome Cast, USB and HDMI connectivity and USB charging facilities.
Bar and Restaurant
The Bar and Restaurant are located on the first floor. Small, but functional spaces.
While the buffet area was set up, I was offered a freshly cooked breakfast. This was quite a surprise – and it made the breakfast more enjoyable than the normal buffet offering.
Shared spaces
The lobby is found on the ground floor. Here, you will also find some seating areas and shared workspaces.
Gym
The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but it does have a reasonably well-equipped gym. This is located on the top floor, and you need your room key to gain access.
The Ibis Style East Perth is a good addition to the range of hotels in Perth. It is an economy hotel. Having said that, it does offer a good range of services for the business traveller.
