IHG One Rewards has just launched an upcoming global promotion for members staying between 20 May and 31 August 2025. This time around there is a choice to be made. Members are able to choose from one of two offers – earn 2,000 points for every 2 eligible nights stayed or earn 8,000 points for every 4 eligible nights.

If you receive a one-click email from IHG, they may have chosen a default promotion for you. If you want to participate in the other offer, you will need to go through the selection page.
You should register for the promotion that provides you the most advantage. If you are only going to stay 2 or 3 nights in the promotion period, then the 2,000 points after 2 eligible nights would be the one to pick. However, if you are going to be staying 4 or more nights during the promotion period, then the 8,000 points after 4 nights is better.
Either way, you only get one shot at the registration – there is no way of changing your selection.
There is no requirement that you stay for two consecutive nights during the promotion. Your stays can be individual stays of one night. Or they can be longer stays. No matter the stay pattern, you will receive the 2,000, or 8,000 points, after staying the appropriate number of nights.
It is worth noting that the promotion only applies to paid nights. Any award nights won’t be counted towards the bonus. In addition, for paid nights, the nightly rate must be at least $US30. While this is not going to be an issue in Australia. there are cheap room nights available in other countries.
Thoughts
While not the most lucrative offer, it is still better than nothing. It probably doesn’t hurt to register even if you have no current bookings.
