Marriott Bonvoy adjusting Dine and Earn, Spa earning rate

Marriott Bonvoy Earn while Dining

Marriott Bonvoy offers members the opportunity to earn points at hotels even when they are not staying in-house. This offer has generally been available at most Marriott Bonvoy hotels across Asia-Pacific, including Australia.

For example, under the Dine and Earn offer, you have been able to earn 10 points for each $US you spend at a participating restaurant. In addition, as a walk-in guest, you have been able to earn 10 points per $US dollar at participating hotel spas.

From 1 November 1, Marriott will be reducing the earn rate on these two offers. On that date, Marriott will reduce the earn rate to 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per $US.

Note that these changes affect the earn rate when you are not staying in-house. When you charge back to your room, you will still earn at the rate that applies to the hotel brand.

Dine and Earn

Under the Dine and Earn offer, you are able to earn points while dining at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel. If you are not staying in the hotel, simply give the restaurant your Marriott Bonvoy number at the time you settle your bill.

At present, you earn 10 points per $US on eligible charges. There is, however, a need to make an eligible spend of at least $US10.

As of 1 November 2023, the earn rate will be reduced to 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar. The requirement to spend at least $US10 will be removed.

Spa Benefits

Under the current Spa Benefits offers walk-in guests can receive 10 points per $US at participating Marriott Bonvoy spas. As with the Dine and Earn offer, this will reduce to 5 Marriott Bonvoy Points per $US on 1 November 2023.

Again, there is no change to the process. You will need to provide your Marriott Bonvoy number at the time you pay the bill.
