Marriott Bonvoy has extended its global promotion offering members 2,500 bonus points per stay. The promotion that was set to end on 18 October will now end 3 weeks later on 10 November.
Marriott will also continue to chip in another 5,000 bonus points after your third stay.

All in all, it is a fairly straightforward promotion. You just need to remember to register before your stay. But once you have done that, it is easy to meet the conditions. There are no requirements to have one stay first or anything. It is just a simple 2,500 points per stay.
One of the main things to keep in mind is that award stays are not counted for the promotion. This is not that unusual, but something to be aware of.
If you are looking to maximise your points haul from the promotion, note that the points are on offer for stays (rather than nights). As a result, the promotion favours those that tend to have short one night stays. Of course, if it is possible, you could move around hotels after each of those nights.
The extra bonus after 3 stays is an interesting one. It looks like it is there to encourage you to try to get at least 3 stays under your belt. I guess Marriott is trying to encourage guests back into their hotels.
Thoughts
As always with these promotions, I find it best to register even if you don’t think you will take advantage of it. Given the current situation around Australia, it is a bit hard to tell just what opportunities for travel will arise.
I always find it best to register while it’s on my mind – otherwise I could forget if an opportunity for a stay pops up.
