Between 1 December and 20 December, you could earn up to 40,000 Qantas Points on a new mattress. The number of points you can earn is based on a tiered scale as follows:
- 20,000 bonus Qantas Points if you spend over $1,000
- 30,000 bonus Qantas Points if you spend over $1,500
- 40,000 bonus Qantas Points if you spend over $2,000
This particular offer is only available in-store. Unfortunately, if you shop online, then you will only receive the standard 1 Qantas Point per dollar.

Under the partnership, members spending at Forty Winks can earn 1 Qantas Points per dollar. According to Forty Winks, an average mattress will cost $1,500, which will get you 1,500 Points.
Burn Qantas Points
Qantas and Forty Winks are offering members the opportunity to use their Qantas Points to gain a discount. The discount is based on exchanging 4,000 Qantas Points for $20. This values a Qantas Points at 0.5c, and is line with rates used at other outlets.
While this is fairly typical when exchanging points in this manner, it falls far short of the value you can get with a flight redemption.
Thoughts
The earn proposition at 1 Qantas Point per dollar is about what you would expect for a retail program. If you are out buying some bedroom furniture, then it could tip the scales in favour of Forty Winks.
The burn proposition, however, is not so good. At the exchange rate of 4,000 Qantas Points for a $20 discount, it is also on a par with other offers of this type. However, unless you have a lot of points that you can’t use for flights, then burning them at 0.5 cents a piece is not great value.
