Qantas increases domestic excess baggage fees

Qantas has quiety increased excess baggage fees when flying on its Australian domestic services. As reported in the Sydney Moring Herald, there is an increase of up to 75% in some cases

What’s Changed?

The following table shows the fees that have increased as a result of this change:

The heavy baggage allowance affects those travelling in Economy, that do not hold any Frequent Flyer status. Members of the Qantas Club, and elite Frequent Flyer members are have a 32Kg allowance.

What hasn’t changed?

The changes do not affect those travelling on international services. The change only affects domestic services

In addition, there is no change to the baggage included with your ticket. These remain the same. As a reminder, as of this writing, the baggage allowance included varies by travel class and frequent flyer status. The following table shows the current allowance:
