Qantas has just announced it is increasing the cost of Qantas Club memberships, and some of those increases are fairly steep. In the case of partner members, these fees are increasing by up to 80%.
The new fees kick in from 18 April 2024, and apply to both new and renewing members. The increases are outlined on the Qantas website.
Increases
Joining Fees
First up, the joining fee. This is a once off fee that you normally only pay when you join Qantas Club. This fee is increasing from $99 to A$129 (or 16,000 to 21,500 points)
Renewing Members
For renewing members, the prices are increasing as follows:
- one year membership will increase from $540 to $629 (up 16.5%)
- two-year membership will increase from $980 to $1169 (up 19%)
- four-year membership will increase from $1850 to $2159 (up 17%)
New members
In the case of new members, the prices are increasing as follows:
- one year membership will increase from $600 to $699 (up 16.5%)
- two-year membership will increase from $1100 to $1299 (up 18%)
- four-year membership will increase from $2000 to $2399 (up 20%)
Partner Fees
Partner fees are also increasing, with prices almost matching the full membership rates. That is, the discount available for partners is decreasing substantially (or pretty much removed altogether).
- one year partner membership will increase from $360 to $629 (up 72%)
- two-year partner membership will increase from $620 to $1169 (up 77%)
- four-year partner membership will increase from $1150 to $2159 (up 80%)
Annual Guest Card
Last but not least, the Annual Guest Card. This card allows you to bring an additional guest into the lounge. This will be increasing from $350 to $449.
