Qantas adds Visa Cards to Qantas Card Offers

    MarkBy MarkFebruary 23, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

Qantas has added the ability to link Visa Cards to its Card Offers program. As a result, you can now earn additional points by linking your Visa card or Mastercard.

    Card Offers

Qantas offers Qantas Frequent Flyers the opportunity to earn Qantas Points on their Mastercard or Visa Card spend.

Taking part in the program is easy. You simply need to register your Australian-issued Mastercard or Visa card.Ā  For the most part, you will then receive offers from Qantas every week or so. If one of these offers tickles your fancy, you simply need to make the qualifying spend on your linked Mastercard.

The best part – these bonus points do not affect your normal card earning. Anything you earn in this program is in addition to the points you would usually earn when spending on the card.

    How Card Offers works

Taking advantage of Card Offers is a three-step process:

    • To begin with, you can link any Australian debit or credit MastercardĀ® or Visa card to your Qantas Frequent Flyer number
    • Check your offers. Generally, Qantas will send offers to your email once a week. You can also check your offers online.
    • Finally, shop with your linked cards and earn bonus Qantas Points

    Link Your Credit Card

The first step is to link your Mastercard or Visa Card, through the dedicated Card Offers page. You will need to be logged into your Qantas Frequent Flyer account so that your Frequent Flyer number is prefilled in the form. The login in button is in the top right corner of the page.

When you link your cards, you first need to select whether you are linking a Mastercard or Visa.

Once you have filled in your details, you will get a confirmation message, and asked to wait for an email that will be sent overnight.

    View the offers

Once a week new offers will be released to your account. As this is a weekly process, you may have to wait the full week before receiving your first offers. In the meantime, you can always check your offers online.

    Shop with your linked Card

You simply need to use your Card as per the offer requirements. Points are typically awarded and deposited into your account within 30 days of the qualifying spend.

    Final Thoughts

It’s good to see Visa added as a participating card. I have taken advantage of many of these offers over the last few years. and the additional flexibility will be good.

In some respects, the program sounds similar to the American Express cashback offers. The big difference, of course, is that you will be awarded Qantas Points, rather than receiving a statement credit.
