This week Qantas is offering frequent flyers discounted award seats between Melbourne and Sydney. For a change, the offer is for seats in both Economy and Business.
Key Details
- Offer: 30% discount off points for Economy and Business Classic Flight Rewards between Melbourne and Sydney. Please note that the discount only applies to the points component of the Reward flight.
- Booking Dates: You must book between 1 March and 7 March 2021
- Travel Dates: Travel any time in March, or between 13 April and 22 June 2021.
As a result of the discount on points, you can pick up an Economy seat for 5,600 Qantas Points + $38.12 in other charges. If you’d like to sit up front, you can get a Business seat for 12,800 Qantas Points + $38.12.
Thoughts
This could be a good deal if you have thoughts of flying in the near future. Qantas have neatly cut out the Easter School Holiday period from the available dates, but perhaps you can work around that.
While the dates may be good, having the offer on one route is restrictive. Perhaps it’s part of taking the fight up with Rex as they begin services on the route. Perhaps they have some excess capacity they want to fill. Whatever the reason, this is a good discount if you can make the dates work.
