Qantas is running a 3 day ‘points sale’, and among the offers is a discount of 50% off the points requirement for a range of flights to Asia. The sale is limited to the Economy cabin, so you’re out of luck if you are after a Business redemption.

The discount applies to selected Classic Reward bookings to Hong Kong, Tokyo (Narita), Osaka (Kansai), Shanghai (Pudong) and Beijing.

The discount only applies to the Points component of the Award booking. The cash component, consisting of various Taxes, Fees and other charges is not discounted. In some cases, the additional cash component can be significant.
