Qantas is getting into the festive spirit, releasing an additional 100,000 Classic Reward seats across its international network. Highlights of the additional seats include more than 1,000 seats on flights to Paris, and Points Planes to Bali.

Seats will be available to book for select travel dates throughout 2026. These vary by route, and for the most part are in the early part of next year.

You will, however, need to firm up your plans quickly. The additional seats are being made available for a short time – between 2 December and 6 December. This gives you just 4 days to try to nab one of the seats.

Qantas Loyalty chief executive Andrew Glance said

We know our Frequent Flyers are already planning their dream holidays for 2026, and we’re here to give them a head start,

January is often one of the busiest months for bookings with Qantas points, so by releasing this wave of extra Classic Reward seats now, we’re encouraging members to get in early

    The Flights

The additional Classic Rewards seats are available for different travel dates, depending on the route. As mentioned, there are flights to long haul destinations such as Paris, and Points Planes to Bali.

    Long Haul

Some of the long-haul examples are:

    • Sydney and Perth to Paris: You will need to fly between February 1 and March 31.
    • Sydney to Santiago: Available for travel in May 2026

    Points Planes

Qantas will be running Points Planes to Bali. What makes these Points Planes is that every seat on the plane will be available as a Classic Rewards seat. These flights are available on Jetstar services, although the travel dates vary depending on the origin city. They are available from the following cities:

    • Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Perth, Darwin, Avalon, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle to Bali (Denpasar)

    Final Words

There is no doubt that 100,000 additional Classic Rewards seats is a significant release. It’s even better that many of the seats of available on the sought-after long-haul flights. Such flights can represent an excellent use of points.

On the other hand, the Jetstar flights to Bali may not represent such good value. For example, you might find that you are better off just paying cash for the flight (or perhaps even going with a Classic Plus reward)
