It’s been a long time between drinks, however, Qantas has announced that it will be returning to international flying from Adelaide. Twelve years after operating its last international service, Qantas will begin flying nonstop to Auckland from 31 October 2025,

While in some ways a significant announcement, it is really just a toe in the water. To begin with, it will be a seasonal service operating four times a week. That said, it will bring 30,000 extra seats between the two cities, so should give Adelaide a bit of a boost.

In addition to a return to international service, Qantas also announced the opening of a new Qantas Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport.

    Adelaide to Auckland Details

The new service will be operated by a Boeing 737, and operate between 31 October 2025 and 3 May 2026. On the current schedule, the flight operate on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

    The flight times are:

    • QF175 will operate Adelaide to Auckland on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving at 8:30 am. It will arrive in Auckland at 3:15 pm after a 4 hours and 15 minutes flight.
    • QF176 will operate Auckland to Adelaide on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving at 4:15 pm. It will arrive in Auckland at 6:35 pm after a 4 hours and 50 minutes flight.

Qantas Group CEO International Cam Wallace said it was an exciting and significant day both for Qantas and South Australians:

Today we’re celebrating two huge milestones in Adelaide – launching a new direct international flight and our first Qantas Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport. This is fantastic news for our South Australian customers who will have access to a direct international flight to Auckland as well as opening up connections to New York via Auckland.

Flights are available to book now, launch fares are available for $699 AUD economy return (incl. taxes). These fares are available for the travel period 31 October 2025 to 12 December 2025 and 19 January 2026 to 28 March 2026).
