Qantas has set its sights on improving its First experience, rolling out a series of changes to its inflight product. If you can score a seat up the front of the A380, you’ll see changes in food, drink, amenity kits and pyjamas.

While the rollout of the changes is expected to run through to mid-2026, new amenity kits have already been seen inflight.

Introducing the changes Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said

Our customers fly First because they value the quality in every detail. On longer flights, a fine dining experience, premium amenities and complete comfort really matter, so we’ve focused on improving each of these areas.

    The changes in First

Rolling out from December, you’ll see

    • elevated dining options,
    • premium Bollinger champagne and
    • exclusive Aesop amenity kits,
    • redesigned pyjamas

    Dining Options

Coming over the next six months, Qantas will be rolling out some changes to the dining service in First. On the menu will be signature dishes from Neil Perry’s Margaret restaurant, alongside a range of new menu items featuring Australian producers from across the country.

Higlights of the new menu include

    • Margaret’s tartare of yellowfin tuna with gochujang, toasted sesame and baby cos
    • Roasted Wollemi duck with orange caramel, crisp Chinese greens, golden sesame and jasmine rice (GF)
    • Crumbed Margra lamb cutlets with shaved fennel, pine nuts, rocket, salsa verde and lemon
    • Neil Perry’s Gran Torino Torta Di Verona with Amaretto and toasted almonds.

    Wine, Cocktails, and Champagne

The new First dining experience will be paired with award-winning Australian wines, a wider selection of cocktails and a signature pour of Bollinger La Grande Année 2015 alongside Pommery Cuvée Louise 2006.

    Aesop Amenity Kits

New Aesop amenity kits will be available to passengers in First. In total, the amenity kits come in three exclusive collectable designs on the flights. So you may have to take a few flights to collect them all. The contents of the kit include::

    • Aesop Resurrection Hand Balm – 15ml
    • Aesop Rinse-Free Hand Wash – 50ml
    • Aesop Cedar & Citrus Lip Salve – 9ml
    • Aesop Toothpaste – 10ml
    • Eau de Parfum – 2ml
    • Block-out luxurious eyeshade
    • Bamboo toothbrush with reusable cap
    • 3M earplugs

    Pyjamas

Just to round it all out, there will be new pyjamas. And it’s not just pyjames, there will be slippers. As part of the changes, Qantas will be introducing navy Qantas-designed pyjamas and loafer-style slippers for inflight comfort.
