Qantas to fly Melbourne-Bali daily from June 23

    MarkBy MarkFebruary 7, 2018No Comments2 Mins Read

There is little doubt that Bali is a popular destination with Australians. It would seem that it has become particularly popular with folk in Melbourne.

The Qantas Group has announced an increase in capacity between Melbourne and Bali. This increase sees Qantas introducing a daily service, and Jetstar stepping up to a double daily service.

    Qantas New Daily Service

Qantas has announced a new daily service between Melbourne and Denpasar, Bali. The new service commences from 23 June, and will be operated by a two class 737.

These aircraft will be familiar to many, as they are the workhorse of the domestic fleet. They have a business cabin of 12 seats in a 2-2 configuration. Economy is in the familiar 3-3 layout.

The downside is that the return flight is an overnight flight – and the aircraft does not really lend itself to giving you a good nights sleep.

The timetable for the new service is as follows:

Qantas’ new Melbourne – Bali (Denpasar) schedule effective 23 June 2018*

Dates Route Flight Number Depart Arrive Frequency Aircraft Type
    From MEL-DPS QF45 1650# 2110 Daily B737-800
    23 June 2018 DPS-MEL QF46 2210   0555(+1)# Daily B737-800

    Increased Jetstar Service

Jetstar currently operate a 787 service between the tow cities 10 times per week. They will be bumping this up to a double daily service.

The increase in 787 services to Bali comes after Jetstar recently announced a reduction in services between Melbourne and Singapore.
