Qatar Airways have announced that it will begin flying to Sydney from March 1st 2016. The daily flight is to be operated with a Boeng 777-300ER aircraft, which featured 42 business class seats, whcih can operate as full lay flat beds. The announcement to fly to Sydney, comes after a recent government announcement that increased the number of flights that could operate between Australia and Qatar.
The schedule for the daily flight sees flight QR908 departing Doha at 8:10pm, with an arrival into the Sydney at 6:05 pm the next day. The aircraft will turnaround to head back to Doha, with a takeoff from Sydney at 10:10 pm. This flight is scheduled to arrive back in Doha at 5:05 am the next day.
Qatar currently operates daily flights between Doha and cities of Perth and Melbourne – and have been unable to expand due to previous restrictions that limited services to 14 per week. Qatar also has codeshare services to Sydney (and other Australian cities) operated by fellow oneWorld partner Cathay Pacific.
