Priority Pass has continued its Australian expansion with the addition of the REX lounge in Sydney T2. The REX lounge is a small but comfortable lounge run by the regional operator Regional Express.
Located in Terminal 2, the lounge will open up new options for those travelling on Virgin Australia, Jetstar, Tiger or Rex flights. This may be a boon for Jetstar passengers, who otherwise would have had to trek to T3 to use the Qantas lounge.
The addition of the new lounge complements the existing restaurants offerings available through Priority Pass. In the case of Sydney T2 these include Bistro 2020 and MoVida.
At present, the Priority Pass only allows access to the Sydney REX lounge. Other lounges in the network (such as Adelaide and Melbourne) are not presently included.
REX Lounge
The REX Lounge is located near gate G2. You can make your way to the lounge by turning right after the main security screening point, then follow the signs.
Lounge hours are
- 05:30 – 19:00 Monday – Friday,
- 06:00 – 19:00 Saturday,
- 08:00 – 19:00 Sunday.
For those into alcoholic beverages, these are served from 3 p.m. through to closing at 7 p.m.
Priority Pass
A Priority Pass allowing unlimited access is available for US$399 annually. Lower priced options are available, such as the standard membership, which allows 10 visits per year.
Many credit cards have a complimentary Priority Pass often allowing two complimentary lounge accesses per year. The American Express Platinum Charge Card offers a version offering an unlimited membership card.
