The opening of the Ritz-Carlton Perth has been one of the most anticipated hotel openings in a long time. Now the Elizabeth Quay hotel is open for bookings.

If you are looking to spend a night at the hotel, you will find rooms available from 15 November. At this point, though, you do need to pay cold hard cash, Reward nights are not yet available.

With prices starting over $300, it is not a cheap hotel. That being said, it is a Ritz-Carlton, so you wouldn’t expect it to be. It certainly promises to offer a luxury experience.

The Ritz-Carlton Perth

The Ritz-Carlton Perth is a 205 room waterfront hotel, situated in Elizabeth Quay in Perth. Some of its features:

  • An outdoor heated infinity pool overlooking Elizabeth Quay
  • Rooftop bar with shared plates, cocktails, and a river view
  • Signature restaurant showcasing fresh, local ingredients
  • Spa featuring holistic treatments and organic products
  • More than 1,997 sq. m. /21,500 sq. ft. of meeting and event space

In addition to the hotel rooms, the development consists of another 379 residential apartments.

Marriott Bonvoy

As expected, the hotel will participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program. Marriott has assigned the property a Category 7 rating. As far as I am aware, this will make it the only Category 7 hotel in Australia. By way of comparison, the Westin is Category 5.

Marriott assigns a category to determine the number of points required for an award night. Category 7 properties require 60,000 points for a standard award night. This compares to the 35,000 points required for a Category 5 property.

Unfortunately, if you were looking at an award night, the hotel is not yet accepting award bookings.

The Ritz-Carlton Perth is not the only luxury hotel Marriott expects to open in Australia this year. They have also penciled in a new W hotel in Melbourne later in the year.
