Singapore Airlines and Alaska Airlines form new Partnership

Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines

Singapore Airlines and Alaska Airlines have announced a new partnership that will provide benefits to each others frequent flyers. The new partnership kicks off on September 27.

Virgin America had previously flagged an end to its relationship with Singapore Airlines from the end of September. In a sense, this can be seen as a continuation of that relationship, with Virgin Americas new owners in Alaska Airlines.

Under the new partnership, Mileage Plan and KrisFlyer members will be able to earn miles on each others flights. Krisflyer members will be able to redeem flights on Alaska Airlines flights from the commencement of the agreement. Alsaks Airlines members will get access to Singapore Airlines award seats at a later date.

Alaska Airlines has been quick off the mark publishing a point accrual chart for flights on Singapore Airlines. The published table is shown below.

Cabin Class of service Base miles earned Class of service bonus Additional bonus
First Class F, A 100% 50% 200%
Business Z, C, J 100% 25% 100%
Business U, D 100% 100%
Premium S, T, P 100%
Economy Y, B 100%
Economy E, M 75%
Economy H, W 50%

At this point, Singapore Airlines has not yet published an accrual chart for Alaska Airlines flights.

Codeshares

Singapore Airlines plans to place its code on routes to 18 cities in the US and to Mexico. They will also continue to codeshare on the routes they previously codeshared with Virgin America.
