Singapore Airlines introducing new PPS Benefits and Qualification criteria

    MarkBy MarkMay 31, 2017No Comments3 Mins Read

Singapore Airlines has announced changes to its exclusive PPS club – the highest tiers of the Krisflyer program.  Starting from June 2017, members will see a number of enhancements to their perks, with improved accruals, a new Rewards scheme and other improvements. In addition to the new benefits, there will be changes to the qualification criteria for Solitaire PPS club, from June 2018.

    New PPS Benefits

The main changes to the PPS benefits coming online in June 2017 are

    • KrisFlyer Miles no longer Expire
    • Priority Access to Saver Award Redemption Inventory
    • Fast Track Security and Immigration Clearance (where available)
    • Complimentary Preferred Seat Selection
    • PPS Rewards – additional awards for reaching certain spend levels.

PPS Rewards is a new set of benefits offering additional benefits when achieving various PPS earn values during the year.

    Changes to Solitaire PPS Criteria

Singapore Airlines is moving to change the qualification requirements for attaining Solitaire PPS Club. At present, members have to spend S$250,000 within 5 consecutive years on Premium Classes on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir to attain Solitaire PPS Club membership. From June 2018, this will change to S$50,000 in a year. While this sounds like an easier target, it will remain out of reach for your average traveller.

On the other hand, the requalification requirement is increasing. At present, it requires a spend of S$25,000 in the year. This will be incraesing to S$50,000 – in line with the requirements to gain Solitaire PPS.

Further information on the changes can be viewed on the Singapore Airlines website.
