SPG and Marriott Rewards members can now collect points when renting cars through Hertz. In addition, SPG and Marriott Platinum members are eligible for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Five Star® status. Members that achieve SPG Platinum Ambassador or Marriott Platinum Premier are eligible for Presidents Circle status.
Points Earning
In order to earn points through Hertz you will need to ensure your SPG or Marriott rewards number is attached to your booking.
You can also book cars through the Marriott Moments website. It is not entirely clear what the earn rate is, the conditions just say that it will vary by promotion. The respective landing page at Marriott Moments suggest that it is currently up to 200 StarPoints or 5,000 Marriott Rewards points (depending on the length of the rental)
Status Match
Marriott and SPG are offering Platinum and up members a status match in the Hertz Rewards program. The levels being matched are shown in the following table

In order to receive the match, you will of course need to be a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards first. After applying for the match, Hertz suggests your status will be updated within 48 hours.
New opportunities for earning are always welcome – although for Car Rentals, there are many programs you can credit your points to. You can even earn points in Hertz own program, as an alternative to earning in another loyalty program.
