Tokyu Hotels & Resorts is set to become the first Japanese hotel group to join GHA Discovery. It’s good news for GHA Discovery members, as Japan has been a bit of a gap in the programs coverage. At present, there are 5 GHA Discovery Hotels in Japan, and Tokyu Hotels will add an extra 42 hotels.
That said, members will need to be patient. The first eighteen hotels are only expected to come onboard in April 2027. Following that initial launch, Tokyu Hotels & Resorts expects to see and additional 24 properties joining the programme by September 2027. As such, it’ll be a while before you can actually enjoy your GHA DISCOVERY perks.

Tokyu Hotels is one of Japan’s larger homegrown hotel groups, and their properties can be found all across the country. In addition, their portfolio spans everything from relaxed beach resorts to polished premium business hotels, giving guests plenty of options depending on the kind of stay they’re after

Brands not joining
There are a few brands that are not affected by this change. Tokyu Hotels manages hotels under the Pan Pacific or Park Royal banner, and are already part of the Pan Pacific Discovery program. These hotels are Bellustar Tokyo, Hotel Groove Shinjuku, and Hotel Higashiyama Kyoto Tokyu.
In addition, hotels that fall under the Tokyu Vacations and Partner Hotels banners will not be particpating.
Tokyu Hotels and GHA Discovery
Tokyu Hotels currently operates its own loyalty program – Comfort Members. This will be renamed to Tokyu Hotels Discovery, and the current 1.1 million members will be transitioned to the new program.
The Tokyu Hotels Discovery program will launch in April 2027, with the initial brands joining the program. In September 2027, the remaining brands will join and the Tokyu Hotels Discovery will properly commence.
Once the hotels are fully onboard, GHA Discovery members should receive their standard benefits. For titanium members, this will hopefully extend to the Titanium breakfast benefit.
Final Words
Tokyu Hotels & Resorts is set to join the GHA DISCOVERY family in April/September 2027, giving the programme a long‑awaited foothold in Japan.
With Tokyu coming onboard, GHA Discovery members will have access to a wide range of properties across Japan. It also means that travellers who already stay with Tokyu will be able to earn and redeem DISCOVERY Dollars, enjoy elite benefits, and tap into the wider GHA ecosystem.
In short, it looks like a win all around.
