Earlier this month, when Velocity announced a revamp of its points tables it also promoted a coming 1 Rewards Point Promotion. The idea was sound – offer a range of rewards for just 1 Point. For example, members would have the chance to redeem 1 point for an international flight, a Dyson vacuum cleaner, or some other item.
While the idea was sound, things didn’t quite go to plan. When it first launched on 11 June, members quickly found themselves unable to sign in to their Velocity accounts. Velocity then pulled the promotion.
The date is changing
The good news is that they are going to try again. Velocity is now promising the 1 Point promotion will run again sometime in August. According to the latest communications, they are updating their systems to cope with the demand they saw the first time around.
While they have stated August, they have not pinned down an exact date for the return.
But everything else stays the same
Aside from changing the date, there will not be any changes to the way in which the promotion runs. Once they rerun the promotion, they will announce a time on social media that a 1 Point Reward will be available. If you’ve got 1 point available, you will be in with a shot at an award.
Aside from that, they same the same selection of awards will be available. That includes a selection of domestic and international flights as well as items from the Rewards Store such as hairdryers and headphones etc.
How to participate
In order to get notice of the 1 Point Rewards, you’ll need to be following Velocity Frequent Flyer on Facebook or Instagram. Then, just keep an eye on any posts they have that indicate when an opportunity will land.
