Virgin Australia Lounge Access at Los Angeles

    MarkBy MarkMarch 21, 2017No Comments2 Mins Read

Last year, Virgin Australia made some sweeping changes to its Lounge Access policies. At the time, Velocity Gold members were invited to use the Star Alliance Business lounge. Shortly after the change, the Star Alliance lounge withdrew access to Glod members, with the result they had no lounge available.

Platinum members were able to use the Etihad lounge when flying back from Los Angeles to Australia.

    Los Angeles Lounge Access

Virgin have once again made changes to the lounge access rules. The changes are effective immediately with the International Lounge Access guide having been updated with the new information.

Under the new access rules, Gold Velocity members have gained access to the Etihad lounge.

However, they won’t be sharing that lounge with Platinum members. In an interesting twist, Platinum membes will now have access to the Emirates Lounge. This frees up some of the space pressure that would otherwise have occured in the lounge.

Here is a quick ready reckoner of which lounge you have can access when flying on Virgin Australia

    • Velocity Platinum: Emirates lounge
    • Velocity Gold: Etihad lounge
    • Virgin Australia business class: Etihad lounge

As we have seen, however, access rules can change at short notice. As a result, it may be worthwhile keeping an eye on the lounge access guide for the latest information.
