Other Advantages

As it is an American Express card, it will allow holders access to exclusive American Express offers. For example, the cards will still provide access to the American Express lounges in Sydney and Melbourne International Airports. In addition, cardholders will have access to the various Amex offers, such as the popular statement credit offers.

Westpac are currently contacting cardholders, offering them the opportunity to apply for the new card. As noted, you will only be able to apply for a card if you are an existing cardholder, and get a code from Westpac.

By applying for the card, you will be directly dealing with American Express. They will issue the card, and monthly statements. In addition, you will need to make payments to American Express to pay off the card.

Once you get the offer, it may be worth comparing other American Express options, if you are looking at a directly issued card.
