The Woolworths Rewards Program
Woolworths Rewards, in its current form, first launched in 2016. It is a relatively simple program its earning potential is similar to the Coles flybuys program.
- You earn 1 Woolworths Point for each dollar that you spend at Woolworths, Woolworths Online, BWS and participating Caltex outlets
- After earning 2,000 Woolworths Points, you are eligible for a discount of $10 off your shop.
- If you prefer, you can earn Qantas Points rather than the $10 discount. Under this option, 2,000 Woolworths Points transfers as 870 Qantas Points. At present, these points are transferred every 3 months. As of 1 October, the transfer will occur each time you earn 2,000 Woolworths Points.
Working through the maths, this means that on average you receive 0.435 Qantas Points for each dollar that you spend at participating retailers.
Things that don’t earn
Keep in mind that you may not earn points on all purchases. The exceptions listed by Woolworths state that you will not earn points on smoking products, gift cards, mobile recharge, Woolworths Mobile, travel cards and tickets, delivery charges, internet cafes, Carpet Care, Woolworths Flowers or lottery products.
Woolworths run a range of promotions that can help you boost your Woolworths Points balance. These include both general and targetted promotions. As a result, it is worth keeping an eye on the weekly catalogue, and your Inbox to see what my pop up.
While it may not be a big earner, the fact that most people need to buy groceries can help keep your Qantas account ticking over.
