Virgin Australia Adelaide Pop-Up Lounge Feb 26 – April 2020

Virgin 737 (By Andrew Thomas from Shrewsbury, UK)

Virgin Australia has advised it will be operating a temporary “pop-up” lounge in Adelaide from February 26 through to April 2020.

The need for the temporary lounge comes with work currently being undertaken for the Adelaide Airport expansion.

The good news is that there will be an all-new Virgin Australia lounge in April. This will replace the current, rather small, offering in Adelaide. The downside is that we will have to make do with a temporary, smaller lounge during the transition.

The Adelaide Pop-Up Lounge

Where is the Pop-Up Lounge?

The pop-up lounge will be located near Gates 15 and 16. This is a little further down the concourse from the current lounge, which is closer to Gate 17.

Exclusions – Who won’t be able to enter

Unfortunately, due to space limitations, there are some limitations on entering the lounge. Firstly, no arrivals access will be available.

Secondly, if you have a single-use pass, you will not be able to enter the lounge. Single-use passes include passes issued to Silver Velocity members, as well as those issued by American Express, Virgin Monet, ANZ or Westpac.

Finally, eligible members of Virgin Australia’s airline partners will be unable to access the lounge.

Service Restrictions

There will be some limitations on the facilities provided in the lounge. In particular, there will be no bathroom facilities available within the lounge. If you have a need to go, you will need to use the airport facilities.

What’s Coming?

As advised in the initial expansion announcement, Virgin will be moving to a new, larger lounge. As previously advised, this will be within the expanded area of the terminal.

Further details on the pop-up lounge can be found on the Virgin Australia website.
