Virgin Australia refreshes onboard menu

Business Class - Fiji Full Traysetup

As Virgin Australia gears up for a busy summer of travel, it has unveiled a refreshed menu. The refreshed menu will see new options in Business, and an expansion of the Buy-on-board menu in Economy.

The new menu is being introduced in time for Virgin Australia’s return to Fiji – on 16 December.

The new menus

If you are fortunate enough to sit upfront, you will find new summer dishes. These include chicken tagine, burrito power bowls, and new pasta dishes. Virgin will continue to serve these on tableware, including crockery, glassware, and cutlery.

The beverage selection is also getting a makeover. Beverages will include the Queensland Green Beacon Tropical Pale and Ale. And, as the result of demand, Virgin Australia will be doubling the amount of sparkling wine that it carries in Business.

Options you might see in Business include

Economy buy onboard menu

Further back in the aircraft, and you are in buy onboard territory. While the first iteration of the menu could be described as sparse, the new second iteration of the menu adds more substantial options.

On top of that, Virgin Australia is promising a ‘secret menu’. Virgin Australia cabin crew will announce the available fresh menu options at the start of each flight.

Virgin Australia is also bringing retro back! Violet Crumble’s and Cheezels are part of nine new Economy buy onboard menu items. Traditional favourites like cheese and crackers and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, will continue to be available.

Thoughts

For Business and Economy travellers, it’s a promising improvement to the menu options available.
