ANZ Frequent Flyer card
The ANZ Frequent Flyer card represents the base level offering for a Qantas Points earning card from ANZ. For $95 per year, it is a fairly basic card
It offers up to 44 days interest free, and comes with a totol annual fee of $95.
ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum Card
While platinum used to be the top of the pile as far as cards go, it is now pretty much just a mid range card, having largely replaced the Gold cards that used to lie in the middle.
Over the base card, the Platinum card adds a few features. The first of these is that the included interest free period gets extended out to a maximum of 55 days, up from the 44 days allowed on the basic card.
As a premium card, it has a number of included insurance products. These insurances include (but check the terms and conditions of the insurance to see whether they are suitable):
- Overseas Travel and Medical Insurance
- Rental Excess Cover4
- 90-day Purchase Security Insurance6 on most items bought with your credit cards.
- Extended Warranty
- Best Price Guarantee Scheme: Claim the difference if, within 21 days, you see what you’ve bought with your Platinum credit card advertised cheaper
- Transport Accident Cover
- Interstate Flight Inconvenience Insurance against unforeseen events including trip cancellation, flight delays and lost or stolen luggage for holidays of up to 14 days.
Being a plaitnum level Visa, the Visa card provides access to Visa Premium Services.
ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Card
The ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card is the current top of the line offering from ANZ. As a top of the line card, it comes with a number of travel related perks, but does have an annual fee to match.
First up, there is lounge access. The card comes with two Qantas Lounge passes per year. If that is not enough, the card offers a discounted membership to the Qantas club – ANZ quote a saving in the first year of $455, however, part of that saving is from a waiver of the joining fee that is available if you pay the membership fee on the card.
Outside Australia, there is the Veloce program that provides access to a range of airline lounges. The available list changes from time to time, so you need to check on it regualry. The current list is available here. To gain access to a participating lounge you need to show your ANZ Frequent Flyer Black card and the boarding pass for your departure from the airport.
As would be expected from a premium card, it includes the range of insurances similar to the platinum card.
Further information
The sign-up bonus is available to all new applicants who are approved by June 30 2015. For further information on the promotion, and the details of the three cards, refer to the ANZ Promotions page for the cards.
