    MarkBy MarkJune 20, 2016No Comments3 Mins Read

ANZ Bank has launched a new credit card aimed squarely at travellers. The ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures card comes with a number of benefits such as

    • the ability to earn uncapped ANZ Rewards points.
    • an annual return domestic flight on Virgin Australia,
    • two Virgin Australia lounge passes,
    • no International Fees when spending overseas,

The annual fee applicable to the card is $225, which is comprised of a $170 Annual Account Fee, and a $55 Rewards Program Services Fee. Additional cardholders are $10 for the card and an additional $55 for the Rewards Program – making an additional card a total of $65 per annum.

    ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Benefits

    Uncapped ANZ Rewards Points

Reward Points are earned in the ANZ Rewards program, the in-house program ANZ. The earning rate on the cards are:

    • 1.5 ANZ Rewards Points per dollar on the first $2,000 of spend in a statement period
    • 0.5 ANZ Rewards Points per dollar spend over $2,000 in a statement period

Under the ANZ Rewards program, it is possible to convert ANZ Rewards Points to a variety of programs. The conversion rates are as follows (minimum transfer rates may apply):

    Program Conversion Rate
Virgin Australia Velocity  2 ANZ Rewards Points to 1 Velocity Point
Cathay Pacific Asia Miles  3 ANZ Rewards Points to 1 Asia Miles Point
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer  3 ANZ Rewards Points to 1 KrisFlyer Point
Air New Zealand Air Points  3,000 ANZ Reward Points to $15 Air Points.

    Annual Return Domestic Flight

ANZ joins the likes of American Express in offering an annual return Domestic Flight. In order to be eligible for the flight, you need to make at least $500 in purchases on the card within 3 months of the account date. The flights are booked on Virgin Australia services, and need to be made at least 60 days in advance. Note that the flights are not eligible to earn status credits or points within the Velocity program.

    Virgin Australia Lounge Passes

Subject to meeting the $500 eligible spend each year, you will be entitled to two Virgin Australia Lounge Passes each year. These will be issued on request to ANZ, and while they are issued together, they can be used separately.

No International Fees on overseas purchases

The ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures cards joins a small but growing number of cards offering no overseas transaction fee on purchases made outside the country.

    Insurances

Cardholders also receive a range of insurance covers, including complimentary overseas travel and medical cover, rental car excess cover, purchase protection insurance and a free extended warranty on selected appliances.

Further information on this new credit card may be found on the ANZ website.
