Qantas unveils Brisbane Domestic Business Lounge

    MarkBy MarkMarch 11, 2017No Comments3 Mins Read

Development on the new Brisbane Domestic Business lounge is almost complete. Opening next week, the first pictures of the lounge have now been made available.

The development is part of the redevelopment of lounges in Brisbane. A new premium international lounge was opened last year. Still to come are a new Domestic Qantas Club and Chairmans Lounge. These are expected to open later this year.

    Design

The new Business Lounge offers seating for more than 350 people, As with a number of other lounges, the new lounge has been designed by Woods Bagot. Taking cues from the Perth lounge, they have opted for a design incorporating local materials and colour palette. In Brisbane, the design is inspired by Moreton Bay at twilight. In addition, planting and natural light has been maximised to reflect the bright outdoor Queensland lifestyle.

    Entry

The lounge features a Premium Lounge Entry. It is located on Level 1 and open seven days a week, one hour prior to the first Qantas departure. The members that can access the Premium entry are pretty much any member that can enter a Qantas lounge. It includes customers travelling in Business, Qantas Club members, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One Frequent Flyers. For members of one of their alliance partners, entry is available to oneworld Sapphire and Emerald Members, as well as Emirates and China Eastern Platinum customers.

Premium Lounge Entry will offer top tier Frequent Flyers an exclusive check-in area, bag drop, security screening and escalator with direct access to the new Lounge Precinct.

    Food and Beverage

An important part of the Lounge experience is the food and beverage.  The Brisbane Business Lounge has all the staple items, and introduces some concepts unique to the Brisbane Lounge.

The lacilities include a full bar serving premium Australian wines, Rockpool Mixologist-designed cocktails and craft beer, and a wine bar open from midday.

For the coffee lovers there will be all-day barista Vittoria coffee and a hydration station. The  Quench concept was first introduced in the Brisbane International Lounge. It focusses on on hydration before flying by serving non-alcoholic beverages including a Rockpool signature tisane blend and infused water.

A generous fresh hot and cold buffet will also be available. There is also a stylish new communal coffee bar within the lounge precinct.

    Mexican Cantina

Where Perth has its pizza oven, Brisbane gets a Mexican Cantina. The Cantina will serve freshly made Mexican dishes including empanadas, soft corn tacos, roast sweetcorn and quesadillas.
